As part of our quality policy, throughout all processes—from raw milk to the delivery of packaged dairy products to consumers—it is the fundamental responsibility of every Bahçıvan Peynir employee to never compromise on our quality and food safety standards, to comply with environmental conditions and occupational health and safety principles, to ensure our customers maintain a healthy diet, maintain and improve our existing quality system in every department, and earn the trust of our consumers—all of which are the fundamental responsibilities of every Bahçıvan Peynir employee.
Bahçıvan Peynir ensures sustainable food safety by conducting all processes under hygienic conditions, in compliance with BRC standards and Halal production requirements, and through the implementation of effective quality management systems.
Our Environmental Policy
If nature were to disappear, nothing would have any value.
From the very beginning, we have made it a principle to respect our business, our consumers, and the world. Because without a livable world, no business has any meaning. That is why we keep the world in mind at every stage of our business.
We follow a sustainable environmental policy in everything we do; we are committed to complying with environmental laws, current regulations, administrative rules, and international standards applicable to our industry. We implement sustainability programs by taking the necessary measures to reduce the use of natural resources and ensure their efficient utilization.
We identify and control factors that could lead to environmental pollution. At the same time, we prevent environmental pollution through continuous improvement efforts. As one of the initiatives we consider particularly valuable in this regard, we aim to prevent pollution at its source, separate waste generated during production at the source, and contribute to recycling.
We have been recycling whey since 2001. Since 2005, we have also been working to produce clean water at our wastewater treatment plant. We also want to set an example for all organizations in our industry.
Our Energy Policy
Our energy resources are not infinite, but our commitment to conservation is.
By using our energy with maximum efficiency, we are working to safeguard both the future of our business and the future of the world. This is our approach to sustainable production.
We have shaped the direction of our business based on a commitment to energy efficiency. In 2005, we began generating electricity from natural gas using cogeneration technology, which enables the simultaneous production of electricity and heat. For years, we have been working to reduce greenhouse gas emissions at our production facility, and we are seeing greater results every day.
By embedding our approach to sustainability into our corporate culture, we conduct training sessions on energy efficiency for our employees, provide regular updates, and ensure that all our employees reduce their energy consumption.
In recent years, as environmental awareness has grown, efforts related to efficient energy use have also increased worldwide. By adhering to all relevant energy regulations and requirements, we support the adoption of designs that improve energy performance, as well as the purchase of energy-efficient products and services. To ensure the continuity of our system, we continuously test it and make updates as needed. There is still much we can do.
Bahçıvan Cheese Memorial Forest
We said that to leave a livable world for future generations, we must first appreciate what we have, and so we launched the Bahçıvan Peynir Memorial Forest project. Our saplings are quickly turning into a forest.
In this forest we planted with 10,000 saplings in Çavuşköy, Kırklareli-Babaeski, we breathe freely and gain a deeper appreciation for the value of life.
